Jon Gerrard has been involved with studies of Bald Eagles since 1967.

1968 was the first year checking Bald Eagles on Besnard Lake in northern Saskatchewan. Naomi joined the project in 1970, and with the exception of 1971 has been involved in every year since.

Jon Gerrard and Gary Bortolotti wrote the book The Bald Eagle: Haunts and Habits of a Wilderness Monarch, published by the Smithsonian Institute.
